This reunion apparently shows they don't want to let themselves be.
USA Today reported that Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the surviving members of iconic band The Beatles, will be performing at this year's 56th Grammy Awards.
This should be great news for Beatles admirers and Beatlemanics alike!
The pair will not only be making music on stage on January 26, they'll also be receiving a Lifetime Achievement award during the event.
You wonder: What took them so long to give this recognition to these hugely successful artists?
Nevertheless, they will finally be honored with such a commendation, and will be reminding the ones that came after them why they influenced many generations and why their songs are still covered a lot to this day.
Incidentally, Paul has been nominated for Best Rock Song and music film, according to the Daily Mail. Billboard said his Grammy-nominated single, "Cut Me Some Slack," is the result of a collaboration he made with the surviving members of yet another iconic group, Nirvana. So that's another more reason for him to attend the upcoming awards show!
It has also been announced that there will be a special performance night highlighting the Fab Four's hits a day after the event. Named "The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles," the show will feature various acts who will perform their own versions of Beatles hits. Eurythmics is one of the acts said to be appearing in the tribute show. It has not yet been confirmed whether the remaining 70-something Beatles members will be in attendance.
Aside from the Fab Two, John Legend, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves, and Keith Urban will also be performing at the Grammys. Sara Bareilles will share a duet with Carole King, who has been chosen as this year's MusiCares Person of the Year.
