Michael Fassbender, Adam Driver and Hugo Weaving are rumored to star in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the three actors met with director J.J Abrams about the possibilities of starring in the film. Fassbender reportedly met with Abrams in December and Weaving met Abrams for a part to play an Imperial commander. Driver is also allegedly being eyed for a role in the film.
Fassbender recently starred in two blockbuster films. He played Magneto in "X-Men: First Class" and David in "Prometheus." He has also been seen in "12 Years a Slave," "Shame," "Hunger," "The Counselor," "Inglorious Basterds," and "Fish Tank."
Weaving is best known for his villainous role of Agent Smith in "The Matrix" series. He has done a number of blockbuster films including "Cloud Atlas," "The Lord of the Rings trilogy," "The Hobbit," "Captain America: The First Avenger," and "V For Vendetta."
Driver is best known for his work on indie films including "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Frances Ha" and "Bluebird." He has also been seen in "Gayby," "Lincoln," and the hit TV series "Girls." He will next be seen in "Tracks," "The F Word" and "Hungry Hearts."
"Star Wars: Episode VII" is currently in pre-production with Kathleen Kennedy ("Lincoln," "Munich," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button") and Bryan Burk producing with Tommy Harper. Meanwhile, JasonMcGatlin ("The Adventures of Tintin," "War of the Worlds") will serve as executive producer and John Williams ("The Book Thief," "Munich," "Lincoln") will be returning to score the movie. The movie is scheduled for a Dec. 18, 2015 release and will begin shooting in Pinewood Studios in the U.K. later this year.
