Sony Classics Pictures has picked up the latest Woody Allen film, "Magic in the Moonlight."
The movie is set in the south of France in the 1920s during the glamorous Jazz Age. The romantic comedy concerns an Englishman who is brought in to help unmask a possible swindle.
The film boasts an all-star cast, which includes Eileen Atkins, Colin Firth, Marcia Gay Harden, Hamish Linklater, Simon McBurney, Emma Stone and Jacki Weaver.
The movie was produced by Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum and Edward Walson and was shot by Darius Khondji. The production designer was Anne Seibel who also worked with Allen on "Midnight in Paris." Siebel later received an Academy Award nomination for the Art Direction in that film.
The new film follows in the footsteps of Allen's latest success, "Blue Jasmine."
"Jasmine" has already garnered a number of awards including Golden Globe and BAFTA Nominations for Cate Blanchett. It also comes a few years after "Midnight in Paris," which became Allen's biggest box office success. The film made more than $150 million worldwide and scored four Academy Award nominations and won one for Best Original Screenplay.
Allen has also directed recent films "Whatever Works," "To Rome with Love," "Match Point," "Scoop," and "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger."
"Magic in the Moonlight" currently does not have a release date but will most likely be released in the summer of 2014.
