Kristen Stewart has been the face of Balenciaga since 2012, and her new ad for the fashion house's Rosabotanica fragrance drew many people's interest.

In the ad, Stewart poses topless in a black and white spread, with only the topiary of flowery vines and the new perfume bottle in color.

The more risqué campaign presents Stewart in a more high-fashion shoot, looking very Kate Moss-ish, according to Web Pro News. Although considerably more risky than her last campaign with the fashion house, Balenciaga did a good job on keeping the ad modest. According to The Telegraph, the shot draws "our gaze to her bare faced chic, and the giant bottle of shiny new Rossabotanica fragrance instead."

Never been a girly-girl, Stewart's decision to be the face of Balenciaga was a surprise to many, but she liked the scent, telling WWD that "there is something natural about [the fragrance]. It's very alive. I was never the one wearing my mom's perfume and trying to be sexy. I was like hanging out with my brothers and doing the opposite of that."

She also added that she felt like she was not mature enough to wear perfume, which she always thought of as something for adults. She explained, "On a base level, the reason you want to wear a fragrance is because you want to smell attractive. That in itself is a pretty mature idea, especially considering the teenager I was. I'm very lucky that I like the fragrance, because I would have done anything with [the company], and I'm a terrible liar."

In the same interview, she talked about the photo shoot, saying that a good shoot "unlocked something that you didn't necessarily know you had in you. There are qualities that certain clothes, or certain environments and certain people, bring to the surface that can be surprising."

The scent, which launches next month, showcases a bouquet with notes of pink pepper, cardamon, cedar wood, fig and patchouli.
