Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale is venturing to another industry - this time, as a country singer.
The actress released her first single, "You Sound Good to Me" on Tuesday. Hale is from Memphis, Tennessee, and according to Direct Lyrics, "country music is in her veins, and that's probably why recording "You Sound Good to Me" must have felt so comfotable for Lucy."
Although she is successful in her role as Aria Montgomery on the ABC thriller series, according to International Business Times, the 24-year-old did not start out as an actress. In fact, she was first seen as a contestant on a show called "American Juniors," a spinoff for children who are too young to join the reality singing competition, "American Idol."
In a report by The New York Post, Hale said, "A lot of people don't know that I actually started out in music. After that show, that was when I knew I didn't want to do anything else. I wanted to be a performer."
She then went on to become a finalist and recorded an album with the other "American Juniors" winners.
In a video introducing her as a singer, and was posted on YouTube, she told fans, "People know me as...right now know me as one thing. And to come out and be Lucy, be completely vulnerable and share my music, which is like my baby is kinda cool. It's kinda like I also have this hidden part of me that's about to be unleashed."
New York Post notes that January is a big month for the petite star, as her single drops on the same day "PLL" returns onscreen.
"You Sound Good To Me" is now available on iTunes, but you may also listen to it here for free:
