Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" has won the best picture award from the Vancouver Film Critics.

The film failed to win any other award but it has already won 22 precursor awards for best picture and has become the most awarded film of the year.

The Best Actor award went to Oscar Isaac for his role in "Inside Llewyn Davis." That film also went home with the Best Screenplay award for Joel and Ethan Coen.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence continued picking up awards for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "American Hustle." Jared Leto also continued his front-runner position for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club."

Cate Blanchett also picked up another accolade for Best Actress. The actress is currently the front-runner to win the Oscar for her role in "Blue Jasmine."

Alfonso Cuaron won yet another Best Director prize for his work on the science-fiction film "Gravity."

The Foreign Film award went to Denmark for Thomas Vinterberg's "The Hunt."

Meanwhile, the Best Documentary award went to front-runner "The Act of Killing."

The Vancouver Film Critics also awarded "The Dirties" as the best Canadian Film of the Year. The Best Actor in a Canadian film went to Matt Johnson for "The Dirties." "The Dirties" also won the Best First Film by a Canadian Director.

Sophie Desmarais won the Best Actress in a Canadian Film for her role in "Sarah Prefers to Run" while Lise Roy won Best Supporting Actress in a Canadian Film for "Tom at the Farm."

Corinne Lea garnered the Award for Achievement while "Down River" took home the Best British Columbia Film prize.
