Homage is Paid to Organ Donors in Pasadena's Rose Parade

Pasadena's Rose Parade has a new decoration thanks to the Done Vida organization that will homage those that donated their organs this year.

The "Illuminate the World" float will become a part of the traditional California parade and spokesperson Elena de la Cruz, in an interview with Univisión, explained some of the details regarding the preparation of the parade's 125th edition.

The pictures of those who died and had taken the decision to become organ donors will embellish the organization's float which includes five lighthouses.

The pictures show people of all ages, even babies and children younger than 10. The families of deceased donors volunteered to embellish the car themselves.

Elena de la Cruz explained that the name of the float was chosen as a symbol of the illumination on the people who receive donated organs. "Illuminate the World" will have a centerpiece of hundreds of roses along with a message of love.

Although the organization is based in California, for many years it has managed to allow Americans from all cities to become donors who change the lives of the people that need it most.

Among organs donated to the organization are pancreas, livers, lungs, intestines, kidneys, hearts, skin, tendons, bones, and corneas.

Donations can be made in life depending on the type of organ needed, but there is also the possibility to donate organs after dying. The families of the donor can help someone else have a better life.

Done Vida will seek the opportunity to ask people to take the decision of becoming organ donors and become a part of the community of over 100 million people that have done so in the US.
