Justin, can you please make up your mind?
Perhaps this question is swirling round many Belieber's heads this season in the wake of the Canadian singer's recent reiteration that he's "retiring" and immediately backtracking on the retirement talks. This is the second time he's done the "yes-but-not-really-I-take-it-back" stunt, all within the space of a week.
On Christmas Eve, the 19-year-old pop phenomenon declared to his 48 million strong Twitter followers that he's bidding adieu to the singing and the dancing.
"My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring," his controversial tweet read.
The "Baby" singer's followers naturally freaked out, with no less than 289,000 retweeting his statement.
However, he took back his words not long afterwards, with the next tweet coming in within the next hour.
"The media talks a lot about me. They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle," his next tweet revealed.
Apparently, this statement somehow calmed some racing hearts. To rest his case and add some holiday cheer, the pop star then tweeted this message within the hour: "Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER."
Previously, Biebs shook up his fans by saying he's retiring in an interview with radio station Power 106, the Daily Mail reported.
However, he backtracked on his statement after seeing the reaction of the people present during the radio program, saying that he wants to "grow as an artist" and would like his music to "mature."
His retirement talks may be signs that the star is needing some time for himself to sort things out. It's probable that his antics in the last few months - ranging from graffiti to starting fights - could be symptoms of a celebrity on the verge of a burnout and that he just needs a break from the spotlight to keep things on an even keel. However, the singer appears to care a lot about the happiness of his fans - which is also what keeps him doing what he does.
Currently, he's promoting the release of his new album and movie.
What will the coming year hold for the "Boyfriend" crooner? Let's wait for his next Twitter quip!
