Marvel may have more in store for its fans in the next "Avengers" movie.
According to Latino Review, Marvel is looking for a physically imposing man, age 40-50 and Caucasian, to play a supporting role in the film.
For comic book fans, this might mean that joining the ranks of Cinematic Villains Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Ultron is a new baddie who might liven things up a bit. Marvel is currently looking for an actor to portray HYDRA leader and master swordsman, Baron Von Strucker.
According to HitFix, Strucker is the first major threat to the Avengers. As mentioned in the report, "He does not have a major ongoing role in the film, but he is responsible for bringing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into contact with the Avengers in the first place, since they start the film working either with or [against] the Baron."
For those who are unfamiliar with the comics, according to MStarz.com, Von Strucker is a former Nazi and a leader of HYDRA, the organization that antagonizes both S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Avengers (fans might remember HYDRA from "Captain America: The First Avenger" in 2011). He is ageless and continually comes back from the dead.
According to Latino Review, two actors have caught Marvel's interest to portray the super villain: Dougray Scott, from "Mission: Impossible II", and Marton Csokas, from "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For". Although they are forerunners for the role, there have been no confirmed reports on whether or not the studio has had talks with them for formal offers.
The film sequel is set to start filming in early 2014, and will be directed by Joss Whedon, starring James Spader as the voice of the titular character villain Ultron, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, and Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch.
"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be in theaters May 1, 2015.
