The former husband of the late Mexican singer Jenni Rivera said that he never had a sentimental relationship with "Chiquis" Rivera during his marriage with the "Diva of Banda".
In an interview for TV show Al Rojo Vivo from Telemundo, Esteban Loaiza said he didn't know why his marriage with Jenni had ended.
The athlete explained that their relationship was stable and that getting married was an important step for him.
"I did feel a lot of things for her, I was there almost always, in good times and bad times. Everything was a surprise to me and until now, up until this moment many things have been said," Loaiza said.
Jenni's former husband said he never had a sentimental relationship with "Chiquis" Rivera and added that she didn't have anything to do with the divorce between the athlete and the singer.
Loaiza described himself as a father for all of Jenni's children, especially "Chiquis" who he gave advice to regarding her boyfriends and who he kept in touch with just to keep the family in harmony.
Regarding the video showing Jenni's daughter in the company of Loaiza, he said that the video doesn't exist since the only videos of them together were filmed during family reunions and his participation in Jenni's reality show.
Regarding what Jenni thought of a possible relationship between her daughter and her ex-husband, Loaiza said that the singer misinterpreted the situation owing to bad experiences she had with previous relationships.
"I think it had something to do with things she had experiences before I met her or married her. With her previous marriages and all the problems," Loaiza said.
Loaiza also denied having a relationship with a Mexican woman accusing him of getting her pregnant and said he is willing to undergo a DNA test to prove he's not the father.
"I don't know anyone in Campeche, the only person I know from Campeche is my brother's wife and her family," the ex-husband of the Diva of Banda said.
