In spite of the rumors that Jeremy Renner was unhappy with the first "Avengers" film and may be recast, he recently confirmed that he will retain his role as Clint Barton/ Hawkeye in "Age of Ultron". It is presumed by kpopstarz.com that he will play a bigger role in the film this time.
Also, Don Cheadle is joining the cast as James Rhodes/ War Machine.
Although Rhodey is not expected to be a full-fledged member of the Avengers team, it is, according to ScreenCrush.com, nice that the franchise is using supporting characters from the other films in order to tie the stories together.
ScreenCrush wrote, "What the news also may hint at, is the long-held rumor that Tony Stark is the creator of Ultron in the film. If Rhodey appears, it could be because he's helping Stark improve the Iron Man technology."
Other than Renner and Cheadle, Marvel Studios has also confirmed that they have cast the roles of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The title villain, Ultron, will be played by newcomer, James Spader.
Since the "Avengers" and "X-Men" movies are produced by different studios, Marvel can't reference characters from X-Men, and can't cross-over actors, according to SheKnows.com This explains why Quicksilver, who is played by Bryan Singer in "X-Men: Days of Future Past", is not the same one who will join the "Age of Ultron".
Unfortunately, Gwyneth Paltrow and Tom Hiddleston have confirmed that they won't be joining the Avengers in the second movie.
As for the rest of the cast, all original Avengers will be returning for the sequel, with Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, and Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be released on May 1, 2015.
