Following the success of The Dark Knight Rises, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is ready to debut two upcoming films: Premium Rush and Looper.

But before getting into his latest flicks, Gordon-Levitt spoke to MTV and was asked about the possibilities of continuing the Batman franchise following the series of events in the film's conclusion.

"It's not up to me," said Gordon-Levitt, who portrayed John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises.

When asked about the ending and how it could lead to a new Batman installment, "I don't think that's necessarily what it is. I think it's a great, perfect ending for that trilogy."

But now onto Premium Rush which opens today, Aug. 24. The film features Gordon-Levitt as a bike messenger who encounters an envelope that has already been the interest of a "dirty cop" and pursues Gordon-Levitt throughout the city, according to IMDb.

The 91-minute film directed by David Koepp is rated PG-13 for some violence, language, and intense action scenes.

The film features Gordon-Levitt in some high-action bike traveling scenes, he tells the Hollywood Reporter, "I got pretty good riding a bike, shooting Premium Rush, I was riding every day for a number of months, but I would not claim to be as skilled or as in shape as the real guys. They're really special."

The film has so far garnered moderately positive reviews, notably Gordon-Levitt's performance.

According to Digital Trends' Rick Marshall reviewed, Gordon-Levitt is the "perfect choice" for the lead in the film that allows him to showcase his charisma yet "have fun" with the character's personality.

Marshall noted, "To its credit, Premium Rush is exactly the film it's billed to be: a fast-paced thriller that unfolds on the streets of Manhattan and offers a peek inside a culture that many of the city's inhabitants are aware of, but know very little about."

The Hollywood Reporter's review added Gordon-Levitt "will please moviegoers."

Premium Rush comes a month before the highly anticipated Looper, which stars Gordon-Levitt as bounty hunter Joseph Simmons who encounters an older version of himself, played by Bruce Willis. Looper premieres on Sept. 28 and is directed by Rian Johnson.
