Mexican musician Carlos Santana, one of the most renowned figures in Latino music globally, was honored on the night of Friday in Guadalajara, Jalisco, by a group of celebrities who paid homage to him for his musical heritage.
According to People en Español, the Mexican guitarist and his band were present at the Vicente Fernández Arena, in his native Jalisco, which meant the return of Santana to Mexican stages after his long absence.
But besides providing enjoyment to his fans, Santana's show featured a great number of Latino music artists, who played many of their representative songs with Santana, as well as a preview of Santana's upcoming album, "Corazón".

According to news agency EFE, the event managed to gather 10,000 people at the VPG Arena in Guadalajara for an unforgettable show that featured Juanes, Gloria Estefan, Diego Torres, Fher of Maná, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Chocquibtown, Miguel, Niña Pastori, Samuel Rosa de Skank, Salvador Santana and Soledad Pastorutti, who played various songs alongside the Mexican guitarist.
Carlos Santana has won 15 Grammy awards, and his "Supernatural" album has sold over 25 million copies around the world, so he is considered to be one of the most successful Latino artists in recent times.

The Mexican guitarist was selected a few months ago to be awarded by the Kennedy Center, for his contribution to the cultural life of the United States, according to La Opinión.
He is the third Latino, and the first Mexican, that won said award since 1978. The Jalisco native will receive the award next December 7 at a ceremony led by the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and his wife Michelle in the Kennedy Center.
