Popular social network Instagram has revealed the most popular picture, or at least the one with the most "likes" throughout 2013, and the result couldn't be more surprising.
For users of the social network, the most popular picture is one of pop star Justin Bieber with actor Will Smith, which has 1,500,00 likes, making it Instagram's most famous picture of 2013.
According to E! News, the picture has managed to break a record by becoming the most famous picture of the year.
With over 12 million followers on the social network, the content of the 21-year-old singer has always been among the most popular, and his picture with Smith had an even bigger impact.
In their yearly recap, Instagram also revealed some interesting data regarding its users' habits in 2013. According to E! News, the most popular hashtags on Instagram were #tbt, #friends, #fashion, #food and #selfie; however, the most-used tag was #love, which was used 371 million times.
2013 has been a particularly agitated year for Bieber, since along with his huge popularity, the young Canadian singer has been involved in various scandals due to his controversial attitude and his excesses, which have earned him some infamy.
Despite this, the friendship between Bieber and Smith has been strengthened. According to Mexican newspaper Milenio, the actor of the classic TV show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" has kept in touch with Bieber, to the point where when Bieber was under heavy criticism, Smith had no problems with visiting him to cheer him up.
According to Milenio, Scott Braun, Bieber's manager, recently said that the singer told him Smith's gesture meant a lot to him.
"He told me: 'I feel so loved. I woke up and Will Smith was there, one of the great stars of cinema. He gave me some of his time'".
