Finally!
You can almost hear Jurassic Park fans all over the world whoop with joy at real updates about the follow up to this cult classic of a science fiction film after waiting for more than 10 years - the last installment was released in 2001.
Fortunately for avid fans, the said production is not a mere remake of the original 1993 movie. Colin Trevorrow, who is said to have been hand-picked by renowned director Steven Spielberg to direct the fourth installment of Jurassic Park, said in his Twitter account that "reboot is a strong word."
The sequel, titled Jurassic World, "is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park," revealed Trevorrow. Note the use of the word "terror" - which implies that there will be more emphasis on the horror part, although the adventure aspect certainly won't be missing.
The director also revealed that a new dinosaur will be included in the upcoming flick, promising that he's "not going to tell you anything about it, but... it's pretty badass," Metro reported.
Jack Horner, the paleontologist who served as technical advisor for the first Jurassic Park, seconded the motion. "I can't actually tell you who that will be, But you'll want to keep the lights on after you see this movie," Horner commented, according to American Livewire.
So far, Nick Robinson, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Ty Simpkins have been cast for the fourth installment. Rumors abound that Chris Pratt of Parks and Recreation may be given the lead role, noted Metro. It is still not confirmed whether the stars of the original Jurassic Park, such as Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, will appear in the sequel.
Jurassic World will be shown in American theaters on July 12, 2015, which is exactly 22 years after the release of the first dinosaur-themed film of the franchise.
