Real Madrid will take on Copenhagen in the final game of the Champions League group B on Tuesday.
Madrid has already qualified for the knockout rounds as the group winner. However, Copenhagen still has hope of finishing third in the group and moving on to the Europa League. A win by Copenhagen coupled with a victory by Galatasaray over Juventus would put the Danish side in third place; the team would also finish in third if Juventus manages to defeat Galatasaray and Copenhagen draws at home with Madrid.
The Spanish side destroyed the Danish team 4-0 in their previous meeting at the Santiago Bernabeau, but Copenhagen is confident that it can stun Madrid at home.
"It could both be an advantage or a disadvantage that Real Madrid have already qualified. They can play without the pressure of needing a win but it could also mean that they lose a bit of concentration. Perhaps it is a small advantage for us, since they are only human," said Copenhagen Coach Ståle Solbakken, according toUEFA.com.
Madrid is sure to give some of its top stars an extended rest in this match as it prepares for the Spanish league and Copa Del Rey second leg. However, it is possible that Ancelotti gives Cristiano Ronaldo a chance to rack up more Champions League goals if he is healthy. Ronaldo has been out of action for a few weeks with a leg injury.
"Copenhagen are a good team with excellent organization and very strong at home," said Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti, according to UEFA.com. "The results they have managed here in Copenhagen against Juventus and Galatasaray have been very impressive."
Prediction: If Ronaldo plays it is hard to see Copenhagen have any chance at winning this game. Look for a 2-0 win by Los Blancos.
