Jason Momoa is in talks for the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman" movie.
According Variety, a source close to the project said the "Game of Thrones" actor will join the cast but a role was not indicated. However, rumors suggest that Momoa will be playing Doomsday in the film.
When Variety asked Warner Bros. for confirmation, the studio declined to comment on the story.
The new film has been casting for a few months with Gal Gadot being the latest addition to the cast. Gadot will play Wonder Woman and is expected to be the lead female role.
Momoa has been seen in "Bullet to the Head," "Conan the Barbarian," "Pipeline" and "Stargate: Atlants." The actor will next be seen in "Road to Paloma," "Wolves," "Debug" and "The Voyager."
"Batman vs. Superman" is currently in pre-production with production slated to begin in spring 2014. The movie has begun B roll photography with one scene shot at a football stadium.
The film will star Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. Snyder ("300," "Man of Steel") will direct a script by David Goyer ("The Dark Knight" series), with Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven producing the film. Larry Fong ("300," "Super 8") will serve as director of cinematography while Michael Wilkinson ("American Hustle") will design the costumes.
Warner Bros. will release the film on July 17, 2015.
