The Sundance Film festival has announced the films in its Premieres sidebar.

During the press conference, Sundance Film Festival Director John Cooper said that the sidebar showcases established filmmakers. He stated, "The Premieres section of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival feature new work from many established independent filmmakers who began their careers at our festival years ago, which allows us to reflect on the impact, legacy and growth of the independent film movement over the past 30 years."

Director of programming Trevor Groth added, "In many of the films selected for our 2014 Sundance Film Festival, we see fascinating characters and subjects throughout. Whether portrayed by recognized actors taking on more challenging and diverse roles or in the stranger-than-fiction reality of our documentaries, we look forward to sharing these incredible stories with audiences at our festival."

Among the films included in the sidebar are Lenny Abramhamson's "Frank," which stars Michael Fassbender and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Lyn Shelton's "Laggie" starring Keira Knightley and Chloe Grace Moretz.

"A Most Wanted Man" starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright and Willem Dafoe will also be featured in the festival. David Cross' "Hits," Mike Cahill's "I Origins," and Ira Sachs "Love is Strange" will also be featured in the section.

Among the celebrities included in the films are Alfred Molina, John Lithgow, Paul Rudd, Steve Coogan, Shailene Woodley, Michael Cera, and Brendan Gleeson.

The Sundance Film Festival is slated to run from Jan. 16-26.
