Cristiano Ronaldo thinks that he can lift the World Cup trophy next summer in Brazil.
The Real Madrid superstar revealed that he dreams of the World Cup glory.
"Iker doesn't need to tell me what it's like, I know what it's like to lift the Champions League trophy so winning a World Cup must be even better, you would never forget it," said Ronaldo, according to Goal.com. "My dream and that of everyone here is to win something as important as the World Cup but we have to keep our feet on the ground, I hope Portugal can be among the best."
However, he noted that he is currently focused on getting Real Madrid a trophy or two.
"There's still a long way to go to the World Cup and I am focused on my club, I want to win everything and then we'll see about the World Cup," he said.
Ronaldo stepped up for Portugal in the two-legged World Cup playoff with Sweden. He scored a goal in the opening 1-0 win at home and then responded with the first goal of the second leg away. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice to level the aggregate but Ronaldo managed another two straight goals to complete his hat trick and clinch a World Cup berth for Portugal.
Ronaldo will have to get through a group that includes Germany, USA and Ghana. The Germans defeated Portugal in the Euro 2012 and the Americans took down Portugal in the 2002 World Cup; however, Ronaldo was not a part of the 2002 iteration. Ronaldo is the highest profile player in the group but he will need his teammates to step up and help him in what many are calling the "Group of Death."
