Utilizing Bill Clinton's popularity, the Obama campaign has released their latest advertisement and notes his employment plan.
The ad starts off with Clinton immediately going after the Republican's employment plans.
Clinton says, "This election to me is about which candidate is more likely to return us to full employment. The Republican plan is to cut more taxes on upper-income people and go back to deregulation. That's what got us in trouble in the first place. President Obama has a plan to rebuild America from the ground up, investing in innovation, education and job training. It only works if there is a strong middle class."
The choice to use Clinton, specifically for an employment message, is important as the US economy saw an improvement during his presidency in the 90s.
The Romney campaign has in the past noted Clinton's success and compares it negatively to Obama's economy plans.
The ad, titled "Clear Choice," is unique as Clinton compares the employment improvement from his presidency to Obama in a positive light.
"President Obama has a plan to rebuild America from the ground up, investing in innovation, education, and job training. It only works if there is a strong middle class, that's what happened when I was president," said Clinton. "We need to keep going with his plan."
The ad will air in "battleground" states of Iowa, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.
Clinton will also be used for the upcoming Democratic National Convention for a primetime speech officially nominating Obama as the Democrats choice for the 2012 election.
