New York Film Critics Winners, Recap: 'American Hustle' Wins Best Picture

"American Hustle" won Best Picture at the New York Film Critics awards on Monday.

The film also won also went home with the Best Screenplay award as well as the Best Supporting Actress award, which went to Jennifer Lawrence. The actress is predicted to get nominated for her role in the film but with a recent Oscar win, it is unlikely she will take home another Academy Award.

Meanwhile, "12 Years a Slave" picked up the Best Director award for filmmaker Steve McQueen. The film was once considered a front-runner but after two consecutive losses, McQueen's new film seems like it is not lock.

Robert Redford won the Best Actor Award for "All is Lost." The actor has been seen as a front-runner for the award but with a number of competitors in the same categories, it seems critics will most likely be split on the Best Actor of the year.

Cate Blanchett won her first Best Actress laureate for "Blue Jasmine" a day after losing at the Gotham awards. Blanchett is currently the front-runner for the award at the Oscars and pundits expect her to sweep most critics circles.

Jared Leto won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club."

"Fruitvale Station" continued its winning streak garnering the Best First Film award while "Blue is the Warmest Color" won the Best Foreign Film.

The Coen Brothers' latest film "Inside Llewyn Davis" also continued winning awards taking home the Best Cinematography award for Bruno Delbonnel.

The Critics circle also gave a special award to Frederick Wiseman and also recognized Sarah Polley's documentary "Stories We Tell."
