The huge success of the Avengers in cinemas worldwide has led Tom Hiddleston's career to soar high, but his character "Loki" won't be back in the movie's sequel, the Age of Ultron.
"All I can say to you is Avengers 2 is off the cards for me," Hiddleston said in an interview with Screen Rant. "After that, we'll have to wait and see. I genuinely don't know."
Hiddleston's statement has been confirmed by Joss Whedon's interview with Empire Magazine.
"Everyone is going to be looking for the Loki-Hulk smash moment and you'll be looking for [a quim moment]. First of all, imitating what I did before is the surest way to do it not as well. Second of all, Loki's not there to say those terrible things. Although I do think we should bring the word back, not as an insult, it's just a nice word." Whedom said.
Although antagonist Loki is one of the well-loved characters of the film franchise, Marvel Studios seemed to have another path for the movie. Nevertheless, even if he won't be back on Avengers 2, additional members will be present in the sequel.
Marvel recently announced that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen will be playing Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron, a report by Entertainment Wise confirmed.
Marvel's announcement came after the casting interviews of Samuel Jackson recently, where the actor seemingly confirmed the addition of Olsen to the film.
In the movie, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are fraternal twins. Quicksilver can run at superhuman speeds, while Scarlet Witch has the ability to control probability and cast hexes.
Before being chosen as part of the cast, both Olsen and Taylor-Johnson have worked on critically acclaimed movies.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is expected to hit cinemas in the U.S. on May 1, 2015.
