A DNA test obtained recently shows that singer José Manuel Figueroa fathered the son of one of his fans after he was sued for alimony recently.
Mexican magazine TV Notas.acquired the results of the paternity test and claim it's positive with a 99.999 percent match between the Mexican singer and the child.
Evelyn Xiomara Cambara, the woman suing Figueroa, recently filed a lawsuit against the Mexican singer so he would take responsibility for his 5-year-old son,
Figueroa was calm when he told TV y Novelas that he would accept the child as his own if a paternity test confirmed it's his.
"If he's my son, then that's welcome, and if not, I will give him my love too. Well, I think the most important thing, if he is my son, is for me to meet him, to have the opportunity and his mother's permission to love him", said Figueroa.
Shortly after Figueroa underwent the paternity test, singer Maribel Guardia said the result was negative.
"Julián (José Manuel's brother) told me. He did the test and it's not his son", she said.
However, Cambara insists that the baby is Figueroa's and added that she was his girlfriend for almost two years, but they didn't go public with it because the singer was in a relationship with dancer Emy Clement.
After the baby was born, the singer and Cambara stayed in touch for a while, but Figueroa lost interest in the relationship and stopped sending her money. The Colombian-born Cambara says that she has not received any money since September.
Cambara asks that Figueroa become responsible for her child's alimony since he only gave her money twice and she can't work.
"José Manuel knew that if he didn't answer me, I would sue him, and even if I didn't want to, I had no other option", explained Cambara.
