Mexican signer Thalía will be awarded with a star bearing her name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this December.

According to news agency EFE, Thalía will be one of the celebrities chosen to be immortalized in Hollywood's Walk of Fame, where dozens of artists have left their names.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce reported that the Mexican singer's ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 5th infront of the W Hotel, close to Shakira's star.

The news agency notes that previous homaged Mexicans included Rafael Méndez, Katy Jurado, Alejandro Fernández and his father Vicente Fernández.

Throughout her professional career, Thalía has starred in telenovelas such as "María la del Barrio", "Marimar" and "María Mercedes", where besides acting she sang the main theme song for each telenovela.

Thalía has sold over 40 million copies of her albums and according to news agency Associated Press, her telenovelas have been broadcast in over 180 countries around the world, dubbed to the local language.

The producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, Ana Martínez, explained that Hollywood is proud to have Thalía as a star thanks to her international fame.

"This woman can't be stopped and we're proud to honor her and welcome her to our Walk of Fame family", said Martínez.

Tommy Motola's wife recently debuted as a children's writer with her book "Chupie, The Binky That Returned Home", inspired in her experience as the mother of little Sabrina.

Besides the book, the singer has written some children's songs and hosts radio show "Conexión Thalía".

The AP adds that Thalía has written three other books, including a memoirs book called "Cada Día Más Fuerte", where she shares her experiences dealing with Lyme's Disease.
