Justin Bieber's Latin American tour seems to attract all sorts of scandals, most recent was in Mexico where the controversial Canadian artist became the focus of attention.

A few hours before his performance at the Forol Sol in Mexico City, Bieber posted a message to his Twitter account, saying that he had met some Mexican "beliebers" and the President of Mexico and his family.

"just met some amazin mexican beliebers and the presidente of mexico and his familia. now it is showtime. 60,000 tonight night 1. te amo," read Bieber's tweet, which has since been deleted.

Shortly after, the Mexican Presidency used Twitter to deny the meeting.

The @Presidenciamx denies meeting between President @EPN and singer @justinbieber.

- Mexican Presidency (@Presidenciamx) tweeted on November 19.

The controversy regarding the alleged meeting between the Presidential family and Bieber comes after the musical tastes of the President's teenage daughters have created controversy among citizens the past months. It has been rumored that they would buy an excessive amount of tickets for concerts of artists like One Direction.

Back then, Mexican source Sin Embargo reported that in 2012, fans of One Direction claimed that Paulina Peña, daughter of the President, bought five rows for a concert the band offered at Foro Sol.

At that time, the President's Coordinator of Digital Strategy denied the accusations and said that it was just a rumor.

This is the reason why Bieber's tweet unleashed all sorts of comments on social networks regarding the meeting between the President and the Canadian singer, and culminating with the President's office's tweet.

Despite his numerous scandals, the 19-year-old singer has still attracted hoards in his first visit to Mexico since 2011. According to news agency AFP, Bieber's first performance at Foro Sol managed to gather 65,000 fans in the Mexican capital.

Bieber's "Believe" tour will end its Latin American portion on Wednesday, with his second performance at Foro Sol, prompting the deployment of a thousand police officers who will look after the safety of the popular singer's fans.
