20th Century Fox has delayed "Assassin's Creed" and "Fantastic Four."
Fox is reporting that "Assassin's Creed," which was originally scheduled for June 19, will be released on Aug. 7. Meanwhile, "Four," which was originally scheduled for March 6, has been shifted to the summer on June 19.
The films were shifted after Fox moved Matthew Vaughn's upcoming film "The Secret Service," starring Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson, to March 6. The film was originally scheduled for 2014.
"Assassin's Creed" is currently in pre-production with Michael Fassbender producing and slated to star as the main protagonist. The film is being written by Scott Frank and Michael Leslie. No plot details have been revealed.
Meanwhile, "Fantastic Four" is in pre-production with Josh Trank slated to direct and Simon Kinberg revising the script. Kinberg and Gregory Goodman are producing, while Michael B. Jordan is rumored to star as Johnny Storm. Miles Teller is also rumored but no information has been revealed.
20th Century Fox is attempting to juggle its 2015 slate as the year has become increasingly crowded with a number of franchise films being released that year. Among the titles are "Star Wars: Episode VII," "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Jurassic World," "Finding Dory," "Cinderella," "World of Warcraft," "Batman vs. Superman," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" and "Ant-Man."
The studio is currently getting ready to release "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" starring Ben Stiller, "Walking with Dinosaurs" and "Devil's Due."
