Cat attended her high school reunion on "Beauty and the Beast," but she wasn't the only character who got a blast from the past.
In the beginning of the episode, Cat (Kristin Kreuk) finds another beast in her room, who goes to attacks her. The mysterious beast is played by guest star Blair Redford ("Switched at Birth"). Cat grabs her gun to shoot him, but he leaps out the window and jumps five stories down. One of Cat's friends, Beth, who witnessed the incident, is a reporter who wants to get the story out about the beast attack. Cat convinces her friend to wait to get all the facts about the incident, such as DNA analysis.
Vincent (Jay Ryan) goes after the beast. When he finally finds the other beast, whose name is Zach, Zach says he recognizes Vince. He claims that he and Vincent served together in the military. Vince brings Zach back to JT's place (Austin Basis), where Zach apologizes to Cat for his actions. He said he knew someone was killing beasts, and that hurting her was a way to find the beast hunter. He said that he didn't know it was Vincent, and that he wouldn't have tried to hurt Cat if he knew the nature of her relationship with Vince. But Cat, who has a strong intuition, still does not trust him.
JT, Zach and Vince got to a bar and discuss Vince's old flame, Gabriella. It turns out that Zach's DNA shows up in a case involving a Gabriella whose remains were found in "shreds" in 2005.
Zach then reveals that he was in a relationship with Gabriella before he left for Afghanistan, and he's angry that she and Vincent got together. Vincent swears he didn't know about their relationship, but Zach vows rip out Vince's heart the way his was.
While Cat is at her 10 year high school reunion, Agent Reynolds (Ted Whittall) calls Vince and tells him about Zach's record, and orders Vince to murder him.
Zach heads to the reunion, and puts on a high school mascot outfit in order to disguise himself. He goes to attack Cat, but Vince shows up in the nick of time.
After Zach injures Cat, Vince grabs him and snaps his neck, ending his life.
At the very end of the episode, Cat is looking at old photos from her high school graduation. In the photos, she notices that Agent Reynolds stands out. She puts together some past clues and comes to the realization that Reynolds is her biological father.
On the next episode, "Father Knows Best," "Cat confronts her birth father about the mysterious role he's played in her life, while Vincent has to neutralize a high-profile beast."
