Who's gonna tell her she's "not sexy enough" now?
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for her sexiest shoot yet for Flaunt magazine, wearing black lingerie and a short black wig, according to the Huffington Post.
The 21-year-old star, who is known for not showing as much skin as her peers in the entertainment industry, was shot by Amanda de Cadenet. She also took some time to discuss being named after Tejano star Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, her love for inspirational books, and the time she saw a ghost at the age of 16. Last month, the former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star addressed the pressure of being sexy in the music industry in order to increase sales. "Every day I get told I'm not sexy enough or I'm not cool enough or if I did this or if I did that, I would have people love me," said Gomez at a Saturday concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, NBC Latino reported. "Look at this room! I don't have to do any of that to have love!" she said.
According to She Knows, Gomez added: "Let me tell you one thing: The sexiest thing... is class."
The "Come and Get it" singer said the parents of young fans "trust" her for keeping a positive image. During an interview on "The Ben Davis and Kelly K Radio Show," Gomez said she feels her own "rock star" moments are "the PG-13 version."
During the interview, she was also asked whether she would go naked on a music video like her Disney co-star Miley Cyrus did on the "Wrecking Ball" clip. "Hey, I don't judge people. But to each their own," replied the Texas native.
However, New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde trashed Gomez for the content of her first single. "I love pop music on a sonic level," she said, as quoted by Hollywood Life. "But I'm a feminist and the theme of her song [Come & Get It] is, 'When you're ready come and get it from me.' I'm sick of women being portrayed this way."
Gomez responded Lorde's comments during a interview with a Boston radio station, and said: "I think she is super talented and I think it's awesome. But I think at the same time that feminism and that specific thing is very sensitive because in my opinion it's not feminism if you're tearing down another artist. So that's the only thing that I feel but you know, she's young, she's got so much talent, she's gonna take over, she gets it, so I don't take it to heart."
