A video of the moment drug trafficker Rafael Arellano Félix was murdered by a clown has been uploaded to YouTube.
Mexican magazine Proceso reported on the murder of the drug trafficker, which took place Oct. 19 in the state of Baja California Sur, in Mexico, which led to investigations led by police authorities in northern Mexico.
Francisco Rafael Arellano Felix, 63, was the eldest of the Arellano Félix brothers, who are drug traffickers on Mexico's most wanted list and had been detained by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The drug trafficker was extradited to the United States on Sept. 16, 2006 but in 2008, he managed to get out of jail due to a reduction of his sentence for good conduct.
The video uploaded to YouTube lasts one minute and shows singer "Mimoso" performing one of his hits for the audience, while a clown dressed in blue with a pink wig quickly walks across the stage and is heard opening fire.
After the first shot, the singer and the audience turn to the direction the clown had walked towards. A bald man seems to notice the clown's intentions because he points at him moments before more gunfire is heard.
The video's image is lost after the first shot, but the audio indicates that the band kept playing until they heard the second shot.
According to Proceso, the video also shows Mexican footballer Jared Borgetti sharing a table with Rocío del Carmen Lizárraga, wife of Rafael Arellano.
Baja California Sur state authorities reported that when paramedics arrived at the scene, Arellano Felix had already died to his gunshot wounds.
