Pitbull To Host 2013 American Music Awards In Los Angeles [Nominees List]

Cuban-American rapper Pitbull will host this year's American Music Awards, the Huffington Post informed. The 32-year-old star is also set to perform his song "Timber" featuring Ke$ha.

The ceremony will happen on Nov. 24 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and will air live on ABC at 8:00 p.m. ET.

According to the Post, Pitbull was chosen in part for his Latino heritage since the AMAs celebrate the 25th anniversary of legendary diva Gloria Estefan's appearance on the show and the 15th year of the Favorite Artist Latin category. Estefan was the first Latin AMA performer.

Aside from "Mr. Worldwide," as Pitbull calls himself, a number of other artists will also be performing on the show, including Kendrick Lamar, One Direction, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (who received nominations in six categories, including Artist of the Year), Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, Florida Georgia Lane, Luke Bryan, and Lady Gaga.

"I am truly honored to be hosting the 2013 American Music Awards," said Pitbull in a press statement, as quoted by the Hollywood Reporter. "The night is only about one thing: fun! So buckle and get ready. Dale!"
