CM Punk defeated Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel in a non-title match after opening the Friday Night Smackdown show with a challenge to the Wyatt Family, who have attacked him on Monday Night Raw the last two weeks in a row. During the match, the Wyatts' music played and the lights went out but they never actually appeared to attack CM Punk after the lights came back on.
WWE Divas champion AJ Lee & Tamina Snuka took down E! Total Divas cast-mates the Funkadactyls in a tag-team match after the champion made Cameron of the Funkadactyls tap out to her Black Widow submission hold.
Alberto Del Rio confronted World Heavyweight Champion John Cena about a championship match on Friday Night Smackdown's main event since he is due for a rematch as an ex-champion. Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero announced a title match would take place between the two combatants, but not until the Survivor Series pay-per-view, before setting up different match-ups for both Cena and Del Rio on the show.
Alberto Del Rio defeated the Great Khali via submission with the Cross Armbreaker after cutting his promo against Cena.
The Usos and R-Truth teamed up to beat 3MB in a six-man tag team match.
Daniel Bryan beat Luke Harper via disqualification after he was attacked by Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family, who interfered in the match to double-team and beat down Bryan. CM Punk ran down the ring to make the save, teasing a possible team up for the two former Ring of Honor stars for Survivor Series.
John Cena pinned Ryback in the main event after nailing the Attitude Adjustment for the pin-fall victory but not before his Survivor Series challenger, Del Rio, attacked the champion right after the match. Cena fought off Del Rio, who stared him down after making his exit from the ring to end the show.
