When "Glee" returns this Thursday, the characters will discover if they're "California Gurls" at heart, or if they're more suited to take over Manhattan and "Marry the Night."
In the next episode, "A Katy or a Gaga," the characters will perform songs from both pop divas, complete will spectacular props and elaborate costumes. As the New Directions channel their inner pop stars, the former New Directioners in NYC will also belt out some tunes from the pop songstresses.
New photos from the episode show Kurt (Chris Colfer) making a visit to a tattoo parlor as well as a sneak peak of the debut of Adam Lambert's flamboyant character, Elliot "Starchild" Gilbert.
The "American Idol" star spoke about his "Glee" experience, including how his time on "American Idol" was valuable preparation for his stint on the Fox dramedy. Lambert also shared that he originally auditioned for "Glee" before the show began-- and was rejected. The clip shows that he's now showing everyone up with his powerful pipes and charismatic star quality.
Lambert said that his character does everything in his power to win over Santana (Naya Rivera) and Kurt, who are holding auditions.
"When he's first introduced in his first song, which is 'Marry the Night' by Lady Gaga, I think he's trying way too hard and doing everything he can to make a good impression," Lambert said.
He also hinted that he may be Kurt's nemesis in future episodes.
On the episode following "A Katy or a Gaga," the dance that Miley Cyrus made infamous may meet its end. On Nov. 14's episode, "The End of Twerking," the dance may meet its demise, but first, new photos show that the New Directions--and even Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison)-- may get in on the dance craze.
There is also speculation about the possibility of a Christmas episode airing later in the season. TVLine shared that there may be a holiday-themed episode, although it is not confirmed. However, the show's producers did put out a casting call for an alcoholic shopping mall Santa for the Dec. 5 episode. On that episode, viewers will also be introduced to Cody, a handsome but manipulative charmer who will not be a singer or a dancer.
