"Batman vs. Superman" officially started shooting last month and now rumor has it that production took place in Yorkville, Ill.
A few days ago, a Yorkville resident took a picture of a mysterious film set that had the sign "No Trespassing." Additionally, a fake street sign was also reportedly put up. The rumors began because "Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder and his crew shot a couple of scenes in Yorkville for the Clark Kent farm sequences in the previous Superman film. Warner Bros., however, did not confirm the rumors.
"Batman vs. Superman" is currently in pre-production with B-roll being filmed; a football scene was shot last month in Los Angeles. The film will star Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne will reprise their roles from "Man of Steel." However, casting has not been completed as many speculate that Batman will have a love interest and that the iconic character Alfred will be included in the movie. Additionally, the production crew is still being put together.
The film was written by David Goyer who is best known for "The Dark Knight" trilogy and the "Blade" series. Plot details have not been revealed, although a logline was posted on IMDB stating "The Man of Steel faces off against the Dark Knight."
The film will be produced Deborah Snyder, and Charles Roven. Warner Bros. will release the film on July 17, 2015. Production is scheduled to move to Detroit, Mich. where most of the principal photography will take place.
