Justin Bieber may be channeling famed British graffiti artist Banksy in his latest "new hobby."
Banksy, who is currently making headlines for his "residency on the streets of New York" for the month of October, is known for using street art to depict political messages and creating murals that are worth millions. Bieber, on the other hand, has decided to showcase his mediocre graffiti skills, creating a mural to memorialize his dead hamster.
On Thursday, Oct. 31, the 19-year-old pop star posted a series of photos on Instagram of his art tagged on buildings while he was in the act.
"I found a new hobby," the 19-year-old singer wrote as a caption in one picture where his hand is covered with spray paint.
He also posted a photo of Kermit the Frog with the words "Thug life" written on its stomach while its giving the middle finger. Above the design are the words "RIP PAC," an apparent reference to his hamster who was named after legendary gangster rapper Tupac Shakur. The hamster died in March after he gave it to one of his fans.
Another photo shows Bieber writing the words "street art" on a wall.
Bieber was accompanied by his friend R&B singer Khalil. The former Def Jam artist also Instagrammed a picture captioned as "Me & Bizzle trying something new." Ironically, there's cop car flashing its lights on just around the corner in the photo.
