Soon enough, New York City’s window washers will be hard at work scraping giant blotches of spiderwebs off skyscraper windows. On May 2, the second installation of “The Amazing Spider-Man” will make its way to theaters. But May is a far ways off. Where are Marvel fans supposed to get their kicks in the meantime? Over the summer, a handful of behind-the-scene videos fed our Spider-Man appetites. Videos of electric NYPD chases, terrifying villains and Spidey antics scoured the Internet, feeding our Spidey appetites. But now, nothing. The project has remained silent as the autumn whisped in. At least a trailer would be nice.
Well, that’s exactly what fans are going to get. After months of yearning, director Marc Webb has finally provided details regarding the official “Amazing Spider-Man 2” trailer. Webb revealed yesterday via Twitter that the trailer to the sequel will debut ahead of “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.”
Here’s what the tweet looked like:

That makes sense, right? For those of you not familiar with Elvish runes, like the majority of us, the message translates to, “Watch for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ trailer in front of ‘The Hobbit in 3D,’” which hits theaters Dec. 13.
In "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," for Peter Parker, life is busy - between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away - but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
