FIFA President Sepp Blatter has always been a controversial figure and he continued to divide soccer fans after firing a veiled insult at superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his "hairdressing."

During a conference at the Oxford Union, Blatter was asked which superstar he preferred - Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

"Messi is a good boy that every father and mother would like to have at home," he said according to ESPN. "Really, he is a good man, he is very fast and he is not exuberant, he is playing well, he is dancing, he is a kind man, really good, a good boy."

When he turned his attention to Ronaldo he referred to the Real Madrid star as "The other one [Ronaldo] is like a commander on the field of play... yeah that's it." He stood up and mocked Ronaldo with whiny gestures.

"One has more expenses for the hairdresser than the other, but that does not matter. I cannot say who is the best. The [Ballon d'Or 2013] list will be published and then the public will make their choice. I like both of them, but I prefer Messi," Blatter concluded.

The comment did not sit well with Real Madrid's top executives and Coach Carlo Ancelotti was the first to shoot back at Blatter.

"I am aware that our president has sent a letter to FIFA," Ancelotti said according to ESPN. "It is a lack of respect for a very serious and very professional player. I am with the president on this."

Both players were listed among the Ballon d'Or finalists earlier on Tuesday.
