The Hulk will have a more prominent role in the upcoming Avengers movie, says Marvel President Kevin Feige.

"[W]e wanted people to come out of Avengers saying The Hulk was their favorite character or at least on [sic] of their favorite. The fact that it did happen, was awesome. So, you know, all of the effort related to Hulk right know is going to 'Age of Ultron,'" Feige said, according to IGN. "It's exciting, because [Ruffalo] hasn't been in any other film, so you can expect to have a lot of Bruce Banner and Hulk in 'Age of Ultron'."

Ruffalo is the third person to play the Hulk and this instability speaks to the character's lack of continuity throughout the years. Eric Bana gave the first performance as Bruce Banner in Ang Lee's controversial 2003 adaptation. A few years later, Marvel rebooted the franchise with Ed Norton at the helm. The film, which was released in 2008, only made $134 million in domestic gross; Lee's original film grossed $132 million.

Despite the character's poor representation in past films, his appearance in "The Avengers" was praised. The character's control over his rage was a particularly unique mystery that permeated the storyline.

Feige has been open about his company's future plans and recently hinted at the possibility of movies for Daredevil and the Punisher. He also provided updates on a Dr. Strange movie and revealed that there would not be a female-led Marvel film in the near future.

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is slated to start production in early 2014. The film will be released in 2015.
