After selling more than 60 million albums worldwide, Ricky Martin wants to succeed in children's literature. The 41-year-old star revealed the cover of his upcoming children's book "Santiago The Dreamer In Land Among The Stars," Latin Times reported.
The book follows the story of a boy, Santiago, who decides to pursue his dreams and a father that is more than willing to encourage his son to do so and help him achieve his goal. The tagline of the book is "When you reach for the moon sometimes you land among the stars."
The boy is determined to reach his goal: perform on stage. But Santiago starts to doubt of his potential when he doesn't get the lead role in a school play. Thanks to his father's wise words and encouragement, the boy rebuilds his confidence and realizes that with dedication and passion he can get anything he sets his mind to.
The book, which includes illustrations by Patricia Castelao, will have its Spanish version, "Santiago, el soñador entre las estrellas," that is scheduled to be released on November 12. Both versions will be published by Penguin, the same house behind singer and actress Thalia's children's book, "Chupie: The Binky That Returned Home."
According to Univisión, Martin wanted "Santiago The Dreamer..." to be a book "that inspires young readers to believe that the dreams woven in our imagination can become reality. My biggest wish is that Santiago wins a special place in the hearts of children and their parents through this inspiring story that shows that achieving dreams begins in trusting oneself."
The Puerto Rican superstar has already published a book, his autobiography "Yo," where he opens up about the social and personal battles he struggled with while trying to accept his homosexuality, including the relationships he had with several women as a result of external pressure, CNN informed.
This year, the Boricua artist divided his time between New York, Puerto Rico, and Australia, where he served as a judge on "The Voice." Besides participating in the 2014 Brazil World Cup, Martin is scheduled to open the Viña del Mar music Festival in Chile on February 23 of next year, Latin Times informed.
