Eintracht Frankfurt will look to continue its dominant display in the Europa League when it takes on Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday.
The German side has been dominant through its first two games of the tournament with two wins over APOEL and Bordeaux. In both matches, Frankfurt managed 3-0 scorelines.
Meanwhile Maccabi Tel Aviv drew 0-0 at home against APOEL before earning a shocking 2-1 win in Bordeaux with late goals from Barak Tizhaki and Dor Micha.
A win in this game gives Frankfurt complete control over the group. A loss would pull Tel Aviv even with the German side atop the group. A draw would do little to change the group standings for either team, but would represent a massive missed opportunity for Eintracht Frankfurt.
This is the first time the two teams face off in their respective histories; Frankfurt has never faced an Israeli team in its history. Meanwhile Tel Aviv has played German teams four times in its history and has lost three and drawn once.
Prediction: Despite struggling mightily in its domestic league this season, Eintracht Frankfurt has been excellent in this tournament through its first two games with six goals scored and none conceded. The Israeli side has also impressed in its first two matches, but should stand little chance against a superior opponent. Look for Frankfurt to continue its stunning start and earn a 2-1 victory in this match.
