The show started with a sit-down interview with WWE COO Triple H, who stated people were fired for The Big Show's stunt on Monday Night Raw. He also mentioned that he knows that Shawn Michaels will do the right thing at Hell In A Cell as the special guest referee in the main event cage match between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton for the vacant WWE Title. Bryan's music interrupted the sit-down interview, telling Triple H he will prove him wrong at Hell In A Cell.
The Usos Brothers defeated Luke Harper and Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family after The Miz landed a Superkick on Bray Wyatt, who was watching the match from ringside. Harper chased after The Miz while the Usos double-teamed Rowan and got the pin.
WWE Divas champion defeated Nikki Bella, making her tap after cinching the Black Widow submission hold.
Los Matadores beat Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre while the Real Americans and Zeb Colter looked on from the top of the ramp.
Backstage, The Miz was shown chained up in a cage with the word "liar" painted on his stomach with the Wyatt Family looking on at that their handy work.
Ryback and Paul Heyman defeated a jobber named C.M. Skunk, a wrestler dressed like CM Punk with skunk-like streak in his hair, in a 2-on-1 Handicap match. When CM Punk's music hit, the wrestler came out to the crowds' disappointment. After the match, Heyman reminded the world he was the best in the world, having pinned CM Punk.
Backstage, Big E. Langston convinced Smackdown general manager Vickie Guerrero that he could take The Miz's slot in the main event 8-man tag match, after sweet-talking her by saying she was nothing like Raw general manager Brad Maddox.
The Great Khali versus Fandango resulted in a no-contest after Natalya, accompanying Khali, attacked Fandango's dance partner, Summer Rae, before the match started. Khali knocked out Fandango with a chop.
Daniel Bryan, Big E Langston, and WWE Tag-Team champions The Rhodes brothers defeated Randy Orton and The Shield - U.S. Champion Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins - after Bryan pinned Orton to end the show.
