We should all be so lucky to have “Scandal” in our lives. While the Capitol takes an inconvenient nap, there’s still plenty of government debauchery to keep up entertained. With a daunting number of hard working citizens without work, we’re blessed to have something to keep ourselves occupied. As the third season continues to unfold, new scandals and betrayals remind us that there are many things worse than furlough and that we should all be glad that things aren’t worse, which they very well could be.
Last week fans saw Olivia’s ex lover, Jake, show up on her doorstep, but remain wary of his psychological state. He could cause major issues for Olivia, especially in the wake of her reunion with her father and dodging the Mistress Gate bullet.
“It’s so interesting, because we know how Huck is now, after being in the hole for so long,” Scott Foley, who who plays Jake, tells TVLine. “We saw him before that, and then he was in there for a long time — he was deprogrammed and forgot his family and all that. But Jake wasn’t in there quite as long. I’m sure it will affect him at some point, but so far not yet.”
Foley adds that Jake’s primary goal is to rekindle the flame. “In his eyes, repairing and restoring the relationship with Olivia is a huge priority.”
While Olivia has her romantic life completely booked, poor Quinn can barely scrounge a hug. “Quinn’s had really bad luck with her lovers — between Jesse Tyler being blown up at Cytron and ripping the scissors out of Gideon’s neck and him dying in her arms. She’s not had the best of luck. She’s kind of like a black widow spider at this point,” Katie Lowes, who plays tells Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know whether it’s dangerous for her to be involved with someone or dangerously sexy.”
Lowes also hints at a particularly “scandalous” scandal that will rock the nation in the approaching episodes that will feature a cast member she hasn’t shared scenes with much before. “I can’t tell you who, because it’s so scandalous, but I’m so excited,” she says. “It happens in, like, Episode 6 or 7, and you’re never gonna guess, you’re never gonna guess! We just started [earlier this month] and it was awesome!”
“Scandal” airs Thursday nights on ABC.
