China and Indonesia will meet for the first time in nine years when they battle in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.
The two sides have faced off 13 times in their respective histories. China has won nine games while Indonesia has only managed three victories. The other game was a 0-0 draw in a 1957 World Cup qualifier. Every single game between these two sides has been a competitive match. China has pulled off five straight wins dating back to 1992 and has pulled off victories in eight of the last nine games. The lone Indonesia victory came on Feb. 20, 1987 in the Kings Cup. The biggest scoreline between these two teams was a 5-0 win by China in the most recent game between the two teams; that game came in an Asian Cup meeting in 2004. The highest scoring game between China and Indonesia took place June 2, 1957; the two teams combined for seven goals in a 4-3 China victory.
China started its 2015 qualifying campaign with a 2-1 loss in Saudi Arabia. However, the team quickly bounced back with a huge 1-0 win at home against Iraq.
Meanwhile, Indonesia has struggled in the early going with losses against Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Prediction: China enters the game as the favorite and should manage a 2-0 win despite playing on the road.
Start Time: Kick-off gets underway at 8 a.m. EST
The match will not be broadcast in the United States or online.
