David Filoni has announced that the final episodes for "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" will premiere in 2014.

The series creator revealed the news on Facebook earlier this weekend and noted that Master Yoda will encounter a tough mission.

"Star Wars fans - I have some exciting news! We have wrapped production on all of the remaining Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, and while that might be sad news in one way, it's good news in another. It means you will finally get to see them," Filoni wrote on Facebook. "When, exactly, is a detail I cannot yet share. I can confirm that in early 2014 you will be watching the final episodes of The Clone Wars, including one of Master Yoda's most challenging missions. So, get ready. We've got Clone Wars and Rebels coming at you in 2014. Animated Star Wars is alive and well. Trust in the Force my friends."

The fifth season of the series is slated for a DVD released on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The series started back in 2008 and is a 3-D CGI animated TV series that details the three-year span between "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones" and "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." Each episode of the series is about 22 minutes and airs on Cartoon network.

A movie version was released prior to the start of the series but was met with poor reception. However, the show has been embraced by critics and audiences alike.
