Popular Colombian actress Sofía Vergara admitted for the first time this week that she is indeed engaged to businessman Nick Loeb.
However, she made it clear that there are no wedding plans for the near future.
During her visit to the "Chelsea Lately" show, the sensual actress and Latina icon confessed that she is indeed engaged to her boyfriend Loeb, but unlike what many might think, the actress and the businessman would rather wait some time before organizing a wedding.
During the show broadcast on the E! Entertainment channel, host Chelsea Handler reminded the actress known as "Colombian Bombshell" that she has been engaged for some time now, to which the "Modern Family" star replied with laughter.
"No, just for a year. The other day I was thinking about how when Americans get engaged, the start preparing a wedding immediately", Vergara said, quoted by People en Español magazine.
"For Latinos, an engagement is another phase of their love life. It doesn't mean you'll immediately call the florist. It's just another phase. It's very fun", the actress added.
According to information published by website Semana, the best-paid actress on TV showed off her sense of humor with the show's host when she was asked to present her engagement ring and Vergara wasn't wearing it. "Did you forget it?" Chelsea asked.
"Oh my god! Everyone is fired!" the actress joked. "My assistant, my publicist... They let me go out without any jewelry!" Vergara said that she felt naked without her accessories. "Am I wearing any underwear?"
Vergara is currently promoting the movie "Machete Kills", in which she acts alongside with actor Danny Trejo.
The highly-anticipated sequel to "Machete," directed by Robert Rodríguez, will star Sofía Vergara as "Lady Desdemona." The film has been playing across U.S. cinemas since Sept. 19.
