Could Javier Hernandez be on his way out of Manchester United?
The Mexican superstar has struggled to find a solid position in the English side's starting lineup and may be looking to move to a side that will give him the role he covets.
"I strive for that [to start more games]," said the 25-year-old, according to ESPN. "I am working towards earning a spot as a starter. I know that my performance on the pitch will allow me to achieve that goal someday either here [in Manchester] or elsewhere for any other club.
"I just need to be given more opportunities to showcase what I can do, because all of us want to be able to contribute our part so this team can win championships."
The Mexican has only played in three games for United in the Premier League; he has come on as a sub in two of those games. He has yet to score a goal in the Premier League but did record a goal for the team in the Capital Cup; his goal was the game winner for United against Liverpool.
Hernandez joined Manchester United during the 2010-11 season. He played 27 Premier League matches during his first season and scored 13 goals and one assist in that span. In 2011-12 he managed 28 Premier League matches but only scored 10 goals and two assists. The arrival of Robin Van Persie in 2012-13 minimized his appearances to 22 in the Premier League; he only got nine starts after being in the first team 18 times the year before. He scored 10 goals in the Premier League and managed three assists.
