A judge ordered Club 907 of Los Angeles to compensate immigrant workers with $1.1 million for their work during 2006 to 2010, a coalition in favor of immigrants announced on Thursday.

According to Univisión, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) informed through a press release that the plaintiffs have managed to win a lawsuit over alleged sexual harassment, a hostile and abusive workplace environment, violations to minimum work standards and overtime pay, illegal discounts of payment for dancers and among others.

According to the same source, the legal process was started by workers Jessika Hernández and Rosario Martínez and concluded two years later with a favorable resolution in favor of the plaintiffs, who had the support of lawyers from private firms and CHIRLA directives.

The sentence imposed on the nightclub forces the administrators to pay $1.1 million or an amount that could reach between 1,200 and 1,400 for each of the workers, mostly women.

Likewise, Thursday's press release from the CHIRLA points out that the deadline to claim compensation is November 2, and that only 57 dancers have presented their claim, 4% of those benefited by the sentence.

Lawyers Mónica Guízar and Rebeca Patterson-Fisher, who were in charge of the case along with CHIRLA have asked workers of the nightclub to make their claim and fill out the paperwork before the deadline.
