Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" is one of the most popular films of all time and the question of a sequel has always been at the forefront of popular culture. Star Harrison Ford recently revealed that he and the director were in talks to potentially film the follow-up to the popular movie.
"Yeah. We've been chatting about it... I truly admire Ridley as a director, and I'd be happy to engage with him again in the further telling of this story," said Ford, according to Rope of Silicon.
"Blade Runner" was released in 1982 and grossed $33 million at the box office. However, the film has been re-released numerous times on DVD in different edits.
A sequel has been talked about for years. Scott revealed in 2007 that he was toying with a sequel and the New York Times reported in 2009 that Scott and his late brother Tony Scott were writing a prequel to the film.
Last year, producer Andrew Kosove shot down rumors that Scott and Ford were in talks to do the follow-up.
"It is absolutely, patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in 'Blade Runner,'" he said according to IGN. "To be clear, what we are trying to do with Ridley now is go through the painstaking process of trying to break the back of the story ... The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment."
However, Scott stated in October 2012 that he wanted to do a sequel but did not know if Ford would be in the film.
"It's not a rumor-it's happening. With Harrison Ford? I don't know yet. Is he too old? Well, he was a Nexus-6 so we don't know how long he can live. And that's all I'm going to say at this stage," said Scott according to IGN.
