'Beauty and the Beast' Season 2 Episode 2 Spoilers: Cat Gets Kidnapped by Vincent [Video]

The season premiere of "Beauty and the Beast" saw Cat finally find Vincent, but there's one big problem: he doesn't remember her. 

In the opener, Cat (Kristin Kreuk) is determined to find Vincent (Jay Ryan), who was kidnapped on last season's finale by Muirfield. Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) tells Cat that JT (Austin Basis) found Vincent, and shows Cat a photo of Vincent that JT sent as proof. Although facial recognition software doesn't definitively prove that it's Vince, Cat decides to go on her own to try to save him, if it is actually Vince who JT found.

Cat goes to the shipyard where Vincent is purportedly being held captive. Vincent is cuffed to a chair where an agent from Muirfield is interrogating him. Vincent breaks free and goes after the Muirfield agent. Cat then shows up and distracts Vincent, and he is able to escape. Vincent then goes to attack Cat, but JT and Gabe arrive just in time and subdue him with tranquilizer darts. Cat holds Vincent as he says to her, "Who are you?" before passing out, revealing that his memory has been wiped clean.

It's then revealed the man interrogating Vincent is named Li Zhao. Zhao tells Reynolds (Ted Whittall), "If I go down, you go down too." He says the FBI came to him 15 years prior about the project, and he threatens to go to the press if Reynolds tries to shut down the project. Zhao says he wants Vincent back ASAP. While at a tribute to Cat's late father, she meets Reynolds, who, unbeknownst to her, is actually her biological father.

Vincent then gets a call from a man named Condor, who is revealed to be Reynolds. He gives Vince instructions to take down Zhao, and Cat secretly trails him. Vincent finds Zhao, with Cat following. Cat knocks out Zhao right before the room starts to catch fire. As the fire spreads, Vince grabs Cat and jumps out a window with her as the room explodes behind them. But Reynolds is informed that Zhao managed to escape again, and hopes that Vincent will go after him again.

Later, Cat tells a confused Vince that they'll "get to fall in love with each all over again."

At the episode's end, Cat wakes up to a phone call from Tess, and sees that Vince is gone. Tess (Nina Lisandrello) tells Cat there has been a murder. Cat rushes to the crime scene to find that Li Zhao was mauled to death. 

Next Monday's episode is called "Kidnapped." The CW synopsis reads: "While attempting to learn more about Vincent's (Jay Ryan) mission, Cat (Kristin Kreuk) gets kidnapped by Vincent. Their growing chemistry complicates his mission. Meanwhile, Tess (Nina Lisandrello), J.T. (Austin Basis) and Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) come together to help Cat."

Future episodes will also reveal the truth about Cat's father. "Once Cat finds out the man she thought was her dad isn't, that's going to really throw her for a loop," Kristin Kreuk told TVLine. "Then, because she's a detective, she'll start to find out who her [biological] dad is fairly quickly, and it's tough for her. She believes that everyone from her past has lied to her... and this man is going to be the only thing that ties her to anything that she was, any of her history."
