The teaser trailer to "Star Wars Rebels" has premiered.
The series is slated to premiered in the fall of 2014 and is set between "Episodes III" and "IV." The new teaser uses the iconic Empire theme and a direct reference to the opening image from "Episode IV: A New Hope."
The show will be based off Ralph McQuarrie's work; McQuarrie was the concept artist responsible for the look of the "Star Wars" universe. When it was brought to the silver screen, the look was adapted; for the series, executive producer Dave Filoni plans to adhere closely to it.
"Star Wars Rebels" was created by Filoni ("Star Wars: The Clone Wars"), Greg Weisman ("Young Justice," "The Spectacular Spider-Man") and Simon Kinberg ("X-Men: Days of Future Past").
The series is slated to appear at the New York Comic Con where fans will learn more about the project. The panel will be held Saturday, Oct. 12th at the Empire Stage. Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo will show new art from the series and provide new information about show, which focuses on the crew of the starship Ghost.
This is the second cartoon series created for Star Wars. Previously "Star Wars Clones Wars" was produced to explore the events that occur between "Episode II" and "III."
Lucasfilm is also developing "Star Wars Episode VII," which will start shooting in 2014; Disney will release the film in 2015.
"Rebels" will debut on Disney XD.
