After Latino José Reyes disappeared last May in Chicago, his body was found dismembered by authorities, according to the Vívelo Hoy website.
Chicago authorities suspect that the murder of the 30-year-old man from Honduras was committed by his brother's ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Daisy Gutiérrez and her father Salvador Gutiérrez, 56. But, according to the article, they don't dismiss the possibility of a third suspect which has been identified as Daisy's current boyfriend and who was detained in New Jersey.
Vívelo Hoy publishes that last Sunday, September 6, judge María Kuriakos set a bail of 2 million dollars for suspect Daisy Gutiérrez, while her father got a 500 thousand dollars bail not only for his involvement in the murder of José Reyes, but also for being an accomplice in dismembering his body and hiding it.
The website narrates that within the audience in a Cook County court, prosecutor Heather Kent stated how the events took place on May 21st in Scottsdale. According to the report, young Daisy asked José Reyes to come to her home, took him to her bedroom where she began to take off her clothes, but at that moment Daisy's boyfriend entered the room with a knife and a tube, attacking Reyes' neck until he was decapitated.
The prosecutor pointed out Daisy's father's complicity when the couple asked for his help and he immediately went to the house to dig a hole in the backyard while his daughter's boyfriend began to dismember Reyes' body. The couple then escaped to New Jersey.
Reyes' brother and former boyfriend of the suspect, Jorge Moncada, told the Chicago Tribune that it was revenge. He explained that when he ended his relationship with Daisy in January, she constantly harassed his brother Reyes. Moncada explained: "she threatened me a lot" and said that Daisy want to take revenge over the breakup by killing his entire family.
